Suspended grants and surveys, A-Z, from the Virginia Land Office, 1793-1874.

These records contain a collection of grants, some with surveys and accompanying papers attached, which the governor refused to sign because of defects which are seldom identified on the papers. Also, a collection of surveys noted as being illegal, although the reason is not always stated. Most of the surveys are dated in the 1850s and 1860s and many are for land now in West Virginia.
